Internship Activities

Through California State University, Long Beach, I completed over 240 internship hours at Kaiser Permanente Tustin Executive Center during the 2017-2018 academic year. Below is an overview of my long-term projects and daily assignments as an Administrative Services Intern.

Overview

Kaiser Permanente Tustin Executive Center

 

 This office is composed primarily of directors for various programs and a regional Hospice Department. The Hospice Department consists of nurses, social workers, and volunteers, in addition to the executive staff. For my duties, I report to the Director of Bereavement and Director of Volunteer Projects. I began interning at Kaiser Permanente in September 2017 and it has influenced me to add a minor in Gerontology.

Responsibilities 

Administrative Services Intern

  • Reduce overuse of resources by analyzing nurse supply orders.

  • Review over 180 personnel files for 100% success by auditors from The Joint Commission.

  • Maintain tracking on quarterly mailings to bereaved patients to comply with regulations.

  • Assist with planning and marketing biannual event to help strengthen the community of bereaved patients.

  • Conduct care calls to bereaved patients to check on their well-being and share the desired resources.
