The following piece was a final component of University 300I: Hurricane Katrina and its Aftermath addressing the prompt of resolving the political ramifications of Hurricane Katrina. This course explored the pre- and post-disaster action from a political viewpoint and included a trip to New Orleans during spring break to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. The essay incorporates my experiences from the trip and a primary book we analyzed, "We're Still Here Ya Bastards" by Naomi Gratz.
